About Dr Sunit Mediratta : Completed my Graduation(MBBS) in 1995 from Kasturba Medical College, Mangalore.

Joined the Indian Naval hospital “ INHS Asvini “ Mumbai, and completed my three year specialist surgical training to obtain a post graduate degree(MS) in General Surgery in 2000 from the University of Mumbai.

Worked as Registrar in Neurosurgery at the Maulana Azad Medical college and Lok Nayak Hospital,New Delhi followed by super specialized training in Neurosurgery from the Kasturba Medical College,MAHE University,Sri Chitra Institute Of Medical Sciences ,Trivandrum and NIMHANS Bangalore to obtain my Post Doctoral degree (MCh) in Neurosurgery in 2004

Was awarded another Post Doctoral degree, DNB (Diplomate of National Board) in Neurosurgery on successful completion and selection based on a national level examination.

Was selected to be a Member of the National Academy of Medical Sciences ,New Delhi 2005. Trained in minimally invasive Spine surgery in Germany(Hocktaunusklinik, Bad Homburg) and Japan (Fujita University). I am on the panel of Federation International for Education in Neurosurgery (FIENS) USA as a visiting consultant to hospitals in Peru(South America).

Have previously worked at AIIMS, New Delhi, Bombay Hospital and Medical Research Centre Mumbai, Maulana Azad Medical College and Lok Nayak Hospital. Have been a consultant in Neurosurgery with the Apollo Hospital,New Delhi since 2006 with special interest in spine surgery. Was selected to be the Trackside Official Neurosurgeon for the Indian Grand Prix Formula 1 races in India for 2 consecutive years.

I have travelled extensively to various hospitals in Congo, Zambia, South Sudan, Yemen, Bangladesh as part of consultants team from Apollo Hospital and delivered lectures, conducted clinics and demonstrated surgery.
