He received his M. Ch in Neurosurgery from PGIMER, Chandigarh, and is registered with the Delhi Medical Council. He was also an active advisory board member for the Neurotrauma journal, and for the medical journal Armed Forces of India.
For his service to Indian Army in the field of Neurosurgery, Dr. Singh was awarded the Vishishth Seva Medal by the President of India. Dr Prakash Singh has also co-authored several papers and publications based on various topics related to Neurosurgery.
